For more elevated excursions, the neighbouring Great Mell Fell (5.5 miles) and Little Mell Fell (1.5 miles) offer walking routes for exploring both hilltops. Larger fells including Blencathra (11 miles) and Helvellyn (7 miles) are accessible nearby, well worth the short drive and longer hike to the top.
