The ground-floor property, which sits within a Victorian townhouse that has been converted into contemporary apartments, is accessed via three steps to the front door into a shared hallway. A welcoming lounge with high ceilings and bright and airy decor invites you to sink into the sofa after a long day or enjoy a coffee at the table for two by the window. Cook up a storm in the stylish kitchen that has everything you could need, and from here, you’ll find the king-size bedroom; a wood-panelled feature wall adds to the style, with fresh neutral colours to help you drift off to sleep. Gorgeous marble floors add a sumptuous feel to the shower room where locally produced toiletries add a boutique feel to your stay.

The apartment is ideally located to explore Cumbria, the Lake District and the Scottish Borders. Head to the famous romantic town of Gretna Green (13 miles), or catch an Ullswater Steamer from Pooley Bridge (25 miles). Alston (28 miles) claims to be the highest market town in England and is home to the South Tynedale Railway. Take a stroll around Mirehouse and Gardens (27 miles) or Lowther Castle (25.5 miles) for a pleasant afternoon out.
