This gorgeous custom-built wooden cabin provides the perfect romantic hideaway with magnificent views of Blencathra. From your doorstep, you can explore miles of walking and cycling trails and climb hills, fells and mountains. Where two rivers meet, you can swim in the wild or canoe through the clear river waters of St John's Beck.

The setting of this cabin, located on a family-run farm, is breathtaking. You can tell that the building has been furnished with great attention to detail. In the open-plan bedroom, a king-size bed sits directly in front of the large picture window with bi-folding doors, making the most of the space to enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. Behind the bed is a neat breakfast bar, where you can enjoy a coffee in the morning while taking in the mountain views and making plans for the day ahead. The wet room at the back of the property has a feature slate wall. The small kitchen is ideal for preparing a hearty breakfast or light snack, and on fine evenings, the BBQ is a great option. In front and next to the cabin is your private patio area with seating, a BBQ/ fire pit, and a wood-fired hot tub. Relax in the evening as you dine alfresco in idyllic surroundings or soak in the hot tub and stargaze.

You can access the old Threlkeld to Keswick railway line from the cabin site, a 3-mile footpath and a cycleway. Nearby Keswick (4 miles) is the starting point for a walk up the glorious Catbells or stay in town and visit Theatre by the Lake. In Derwentwater (7 miles), you can catch one of the launches and cruise between jetties, hopping on and off for a picnic, a waterfall walk or a spot of afternoon tea.

It was an absolutely pleasure staying in The Roe for a couple of nights, it is on a farm but it is so quiet and peaceful, such a lovely location to reset yourself.

I would absolutely recommend this cottage. It was clean and extremely well presented. The hosts were very helpful and provided extras including tea / coffee / cookies / Prosecco. The view was amazing, the location was quiet and there was a real sense of privacy for your own cabin.

The Roe was absolutely stunning. The owners really had thought of everything - even cooking oil. Such a comfortable cabin in a stunning location. The owners were so responsive and thoughtful. And the two dogs I met were lovely and got lots of hugs from me. My partner and I had the most relaxing time. Thank you so much

The view alone is worth the price of the stay! Would recommend staying here to anyone, you wont be disappointed. Owners were also really helpful throughout our stay, recommending local walks and also helping out with the hot tub when required.

We absolutely loved our stay. The shepherds hut was cosy and beautifully set out inside. The wood fired hot tub was fabulous but best of all, are the amazing views of the countryside and towering peak of Blencathra (Saddleback). Would highly recommend.
