Converted barn on the Solway Coast, with private hot tub, large patio, enclosed garden and games room. A fabulous base to explore The Lakes and coast, if you can tear yourself away from the property.
Escape for a luxurious break at this gorgeous, converted bard on the Solway Coast. Sitting in the pretty coastal village of Mawbray, it sleeps eight people over four bedrooms and welcomes two canine companions, making it the ideal retreat for families or groups of friends who want to surround themselves with unspoilt Cumbrian countryside. Spend your days hiking along Hadrian’s Wall or strolling the glorious beach at Mawbray Banks, and your evenings in the games’ room or taking a well-earned dip in the private hot tub.
Step inside and drop your outdoor gear in the utility room. Head through to the bright and elegant lounge to make yourself at home by the wood burner. When it’s time for dinner, head to the open-plan kitchen, informal lounge and dining room and open up the bi-folding doors that lead onto the patio if it’s a pleasant evening. Cook for your loved ones and then gather everyone at the dining table in front of the bi-folding doors to eat. After dinner, slip onto the sofa in front of the TV, or challenge your loved ones to a pool tournament in the games room. Alternatively, head out to the garden to indulge in a soak in the private hot tub. When it’s time for bed there are four lovely, themed bedrooms on the first floor.
You’ll find some of the finest sand dunes in the area at Mawbray Banks (0.5 miles). Time your visit for when the tide is out and you may be lucky enough to see the submerged forest, which has been hidden off the coast for some 8,000 years. Alternatively, head to Solloth for a game of golf (5 miles) or to Maryport (9 miles) to visit the Roman fort or the aquarium.
