Enjoying an idyllic location on the outskirts of the seaside village of St Bees, this imaginatively updated barn conversion makes an ideal holiday home for families and friends discovering a tranquil part of Cumbria. Offering light, cosy accommodation for up to seven guests, the chic, stylishly decorated detached property is ideally situated for nature lovers, beach fans and walkers discovering the region’s gorgeous beaches, quaint villages and spellbinding countryside. Featuring exposed timber beams, oak flooring and high ceilings, this relaxing getaway is perfect for exploring the St Bees Heritage Coast and the breathtaking western stretches of the Lake District.

The characterful lounge features a sandstone fireplace with a wood burner effect electric fire along with comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a high vaulted ceiling with light streaming in. With a stylish breakfast bar and a sociable main dining table, the country-style kitchen/diner is perfect for enjoying family feasts and hearty breakfasts. The ground floor also has a bathroom and two cheerful bedrooms: a double and a single. On the first-floor landing there’s a cosy reading area perfect for curling up with a good book. You will also find the spacious, light-filled family bedroom with a king-size bed, two single beds, an en-suite shower room and a low sloping ceiling with skylights and wooden beams. Outside, the enclosed patio provides a lovely spot to sit out and enjoy some al fresco dining on a summer’s day.

St Bees marks the start of Wainwright’s famous Coast to Coast Walk, and has a lovely beach, a promenade and a charming choice of shops and eateries. Local attractions and landmarks include Ponsonby Fell, Braystones Beach, Muncaster Castle and Blakeley Raise Stone Circle, all within 15 miles. Inland, the nearest lakes are the beautiful Ennerdale Water, Loweswater and Wast Water (all within 15 miles).

Absolutely fabulous house for us to explore the lakes. We were very fortunate with the weather and found the house to be the perfect base. The kitchen equipment was fabulous especially the quality of the pans. The beds were very comfy and the cleanliness of the property was 10/10. Perfect home from home.

Ha a fabulous stay in St Bees, this was our second stay in this property & it really ticks all the boxs for us. Nice secure outside space for our dog & a 2 minute walk to the Manor Hotel for a few beers & a meal (also very dog friendly) Its a lovely area with a fantastic beach & we probably got the best week in September for weather possible. Lovely place, great location. Clean and provided many things other cottages do not provide basics like handwash, liquid, extra toilet roll etc. 3 mins from the beach and supermarkets close by. Owner was responsive as and when needed. Would definitely recommend and come again as we do a trip annually.

Exceptionally well presented property, well equipped and very clean, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The outside, dog safe area, is fully paved and enclosed. It is only a short walk to dog friendly pubs, serving good food, as well as a local shop for basic needs. Perfect location for exploring the lakes and surrounding areas like Maryport, Carlisle, Workington and Egremont. We and our dogs absolutely loved it and the beach. Images of the cottage do not do it justice, everyone is friendly. Coastal walk from St Bees to Whitehaven a must

Absolutely gorgeous cottage, the pictures online simply do not do it justice. Very spacious with the interior finished to a very high standard and also very dog friendly (we had 2). Extremely clean and well equipped. Owner had kindly put out bread, milk and butter on our arrival. Short walk to dog friendly pubs, both serving good food and also the Read morelocal shop for basic shopping with bigger supermarkets only a 10/15 minute drive away. We loved the cottage everything was really good. and would book again. So dog and family friendly. The beach is perfect, area peaceful and easy to get to other areas in the lakes. Cannot recommend enough.

Absolutely loved our stay. The house was really cosy and had a lovely cottage feel to it. Having a washer, dryer and dish washer was a bonus especially as we were down the beach every day walking the dog and could just throw our sandy clothes in the wash. The beds were super comfy and the rooms were nicely decorated . There was plenty of dvds, gameRead mores and books at the house too if you had forgotten to bring your own. Highly recommend the walk up to the lighthouse enjoying the sea view. Hide
