The romantic cottage enjoys a quiet location in the pretty village of Lindale, on the southern edge of the Lake District National Park. From the cottage, you can spend a day at the races in Cartmel (4 miles), take a river cruise on Lake Windermere (5 miles), or soak up the sea air in Grange-over-Sands (2 miles). After a day of adventure, return to your cosy abode to snuggle up with a glass of wine in the glow of the wood burner.

The period property oozes character and cosiness, with sumptuous soft furnishings, plush furniture, and a plethora of exposed woodwork bringing style and warmth to each area. Stone steps lead to the front door, which opens directly into the lounge/kitchen/diner, with its beamed ceiling and roaring wood burner. Whip up tasty meals in the cleverly designed kitchen area to enjoy together at the rustic dining table. After dinner, curl up in the armchair with a good book, or watch a film on the Smart TV. An open-tread, wooden staircase leads to the first floor, where you’ll find the double bedroom, dressing room, and shower room. Outside, sip a morning coffee on the bench at the front of the property and plan your day’s itinerary.

Journey north and you’ll soon reach the shores of Lake Windermere (5 miles), where you can board one of the iconic steamers to get out on the water or enjoy a relaxing jaunt on the steam trains of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. You’ll also find a fabulous range of breathtaking walking routes to explore in the surrounding fells. Welcome pack was very nice. Unfortunately its no good for tall people as upstairs was difficult, also the shower. You cant help it, but the cockerel is a pain first thing in the morning. Wi-Fi and televisions are good. Dressing gowns, nice touch.

A great small cottage to use as a base to discover the south peninsular of the lakes and beyond. Before visiting a lot of reviews stated the cottage was cold, I can confirm this isnt the case at all, extremely warm and we had to turn some of the radiators down. This is a beautiful quaint cottage which is a mixture of olde world and modern. High quality furniture and accessories. Modern bathroom and kitchen, with toiletries, handwash and cleaning products provided. Heating switched on upon arrival which was a bonus and cottage stayed warm throughout my stay. Log burner added to the cosy ambience. Stairs arRead moree very steep so care needs to be taken when descending, especially with elderly guests or people with mobility issues. Overall a cosy cottage but takes a lot of heating to keep it warm. You need to use the log burner to maintain the heat even with the central heating on. Make sure you bring plenty of logs, fire lighters, kindling and paper as none are supplied.
