A path leads through the garden to the shepherd’s hut which can be reached by a flight of three small steps. Inside you will find a lovely living area with a wood burner, TV, a bench, and a small dining table with chairs. The hut also has a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge. To the rear of the hut, you will find the cosy double bed which is slightly raised and offers glorious views from the windows. Stepping outside, a separate building is just across the lawn, housing a fully equipped kitchen and a stylish shower room. Next to the hut is a private picnic table along with a BBQ and a covered shelter, and you can also explore the grounds which has a fire pit, a stream and other seating areas.
There are miles of wonderful walks on both sides of the border, with the route of Hadrian’s Wall running nearby. The historic city of Carlisle (13 miles) has plenty of shops and great places to eat and drink. Attractions include Solway Aviation Museum, Gilnockie Tower and Walby Farm Park (all within 13 miles).
