Situated in the western part of the Lake District National Park, this holiday hideaway is made for reunions with family or friends in magnificent surroundings.

This rurally located cottage for four people is situated in a secluded location near Loweswater. The cottage sleeps four people and offers a rare degree of privacy in an idyllic setting. It enjoys a lovely position on a private lane amidst beautiful scenery and upland farming.

The cottage has been refurbished in a contemporary style to make the best of the original features whilst providing modern facilities for a comfortable stay. There are two bedrooms with rural views and a cosy sitting room with a wood burner and comfortable seating.

Loweswater is a peaceful unspoilt location in the western Lake District. The western side of the lake is cloaked in woodland from the edge of the lake and on the lower slopes of Burnbank Fell and Carling Knott. These ancient woodlands are home to many rare and interesting wildlife including red squirrels, deer and many species of birds.

The front door of the cottage opens into the dining kitchen. This is a slate-floored room, well equipped with a gas hob and electric oven, Belfast sink, slimline integrated dishwasher, Smeg washer/dryer and an under-counter fridge with small freezer compartment. The LPG boiler provides heating and hot water and is housed in a kitchen cupboard. At one end of the kitchen there is a beautiful oak table and chairs, a window seat and the original oak ceiling beams.

Off the kitchen a door leads into the downstairs sitting room. The room features a slate mantel piece over the wood burner and windows to both sides. There is a flatscreen TV, DVD player and an iPod docking station.

Stairs lead upstairs from the sitting room to the first floor bedrooms and bathroom. The king-size bedroom, which is furnished with lovely oak furniture, has windows to two sides and views to the woodlands and fields. The twin bedroom has modern oak furniture and views across the surrounding farmland.

There is a contemporary bathroom with wooden floor featuring a bath with dual shower head over (rainhead and smaller shower head), WC, wash basin with mirror and shaver socket and a heated towel rail.

Outside, there is sitting out area with a wooden bench and the garden then flows down behind the traditional lakeland barn with further seating and breathtaking views to Loweswater. There is parking by the cottage for up to two cars.

We had an amazing stay at the cottage. The location is absolutely perfect. The views from the garden are absolutely stunning. Cottage was very clean and had everything we needed including a good supply of wood for the log burner. Many walks straight from the doorstep and plenty of Wainright fells close by to tick off the list. The dogs absolutely lRead moreoved their stay The only down side was the height of the fencing. We had to keep the dogs on a long lead in fear of them jumping over. We'll be back! Hide

Absolutely fantastic out of the way location. Really quiet with stunning views of Loweswater from the extended garden. Very comfortable and well equipped. Great walking from the cottage with no need to drive out. One of the few cottages we would certainly consider returning to.

Absolutley stunning location. Great views of the lake and mountains from our private picnic table. Lovely walks in all directions right from the front door. Our dogs were in heaven! Several walking routes to the famous Kirkstile Inn. Holme force waterfall is amazing, underappreciated, and only about a mile walk. The cottage was in an absolutely perfect situation with views over Loweswater and the surrounding countryside. Footpaths right from the door mean you can leave the car behind and walk everywhere. The cottage was fully equipped and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic location and very comfortable Cottage. Stunning views from the garden and cottage is located on the footpath for a lovely walk down to the lakeside. (Be wary if you are allergic to dogs - it was rather 'doggy' but I imagine that will be a draw for plenty of dog owners).

Wonderful house and location, so many walks that can be done directly, or with minimal driving. Some of the party also braved a (very short) swim in Loweswater. Quick to get into Cockermouth to stock up on shopping.
