Luxury meets comfort in this magnificent secluded bolt-hole. It offers the perfect home-from-home experience if you wish to escape the stresses of modern life and immerse yourself in the stunning landscape. Providing peace and tranquillity without compromising on any of the 21-century conveniences we’ve come to desire, the property possesses a sense of remoteness which is rare in such a fantastically central Lake District location. Colwith forms part of Neaum Crag, a fairytale manor house which is believed to date back to the 1500s. This character property nestles in an idyllic location on a private wooded estate and overlooks the striking Langdale Pikes and Coniston Fells. Its unique angular shape and prominent position on a craggy elevation, complement the fabulous rough stone used in the build, to give the property a seamless link to the rugged scenery in which it resides.

If you can tear yourself away from this lovely home, a wealth of walks lead off in all directions from the front door. Gentle strolls along the River Brathay, Loughrigg Tarn and Elterwater allow splendid scenery without any strenuous climbs, while Coniston Old Man, Loughrigg Fell and the Langdale Pikes provide a more challenging hike and panoramic views of the National Park. Colwith is ideal if you wish for a car-free holiday; the delightful Lakeland villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Coniston are all accessible on foot and have good public transport routes; nearby, the superb Britannia Inn, Wainwright's Inn and Chesters by the River offer excellent food and drink, and a welcoming atmosphere. If the weather is wet or you're simply looking to relax, Colwith guests can enjoy shared use of the Neaum Crag's indoor leisure facilities which are less than 100m away. The heated swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna are sure to invigorate you, and table tennis is a fun way to spend an hour or two. Please note, the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna are closed November to March.

Located in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Colwith is an excellent choice for those wishing to explore the wider area. A short drive from the property sees you at the foot of Scafell Pike for an epic accent up England's highest mountain. If watersports, cruises or wild swimming are more you, you'll be pleased to learn you're less than 2 miles from the head of Windermere, 10 miles from Coniston Water, Rydal Water and Grasmere, and a mere 20 miles from Ullswater and Derwentwater. The vibrant Lakeland villages and towns of Ambleside, Bowness-on-Windermere and Keswick offer a lovely day out with plenty of attractions to visit, and the larger market towns of Kendal, Penrith and Cockermouth are all just a short, scenic drive away.
