2nd time staying here for New Year, an excellent base as always for hiking and exploring the Lakes. Clean, good equipment, and a free breakfast pack when you arrive as a bonus! Would recommend to any individual or couple looking to get around the Lakes any time of year.

Hello Connor, Welcome back! How wonderful to spend New Year in the Lakes - there really is no better place to be. You couldn't have picked a better location for getting out and about on some great walks. The breakfast pack sounds perfect before a day out hiking and exploring the Lakes. I'm thrilled you had another really great stay and I hope you will come back and visit us soon.

Hi Mike, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your Christmas break. The location couldn't be better for getting out on the fells could it?
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

We spent 3 nights at Cocklakes Cottage. It was fine for a short stay. It is in a good location. The room is clean, comfortably furnished, well equipped and warm. Having the excellent farm shop a few metres away is great; and the "breakfast pack" of local bacon, eggs etc is a thoughtful and welcoming touch. The downside is really the design of the bedsit - the big picture windows along one side of the room look out onto a rather bare car park, with cars immediately outside, and the main farmhouse entrance. So you have effectively no view and you can't really open the blinds. The car park lights are also quite bright at night. There is a open view to the fells from the front door but no windows on that side. We also had a problem with the shower thermostat which you could not turn down below scalding. Had we been staying for longer we would have raised it with the owner. Overall however, as indicated above, it was comfortable and convenient for a short stay.

Hi Martin, many thanks for taking the time to leave your comments. I'm sorry to hear about the shower issue and would have been happy to sort it for you, if we'd known. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your stay - it really is a lovely location, isn't it?
