Beautiful little bolt hole, comfy and warm and with easy access across Borrowdale and Lorton. Had a really relaxing week, excellent spot to chill with the dog. Main bed upstairs is a bit creaky and the yard outside is a bit odd but bath and kitchen are excellent.

Hi Luke, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your break, it's a beautiful part of the world isn't it? And the cottage is lovely and cosy to come home to after a day out exploring. I hope you can come back to make more memories in the Lakes soon.

A lovely cottage located perfectly within the Lake District. High Lorton is a lovely village, and is a 15 minutes drive from Cockermouth, 20 from Keswick and a great distance from sights within the lakes like Bassenthwaite, Buttermere and Crunnock.
The cottage isn’t fully kitted out with a lot of amenities (it does come with a washing machine but no dishwasher) but for a week was perfectly fine for our needs.
Overall, we would thoroughly recommend Cobblers to anyone who is looking for an opportunity to switch off, and isn’t fussed about staying somewhere luxurious with all the mod-cons.

Loved this place, neighbours over the road were really welcoming. local pub was a welcome rest to eat pies, burgers & chips, etc after a calorie burning day out. The cottage had everything to allow for a good base to explore the nearby lakes & achieve a few more of the Wainwrights. A very good base if you plan on doing the Coledale Horseshoe, which is a spectacular walk with a good challenge even for the minimal set of Grisedale Pike, Hopegill Head, Crag Hill, Sail, and Outerside. The hiking in this area is sublime.

Hi James, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you had a wonderful holiday. You couldn't have chosen a better location if you enjoy getting out for some good walks. And the cottage is lovely and cosy to come home to after a day on the fells. I hope you can come back and do it all again some time, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
