General Comments: The cottage is lovely and cosy. It has lots of character and charm. An ideal base for exploring the north Lakes. Telephone reception was a bit and miss, and it could benefit from having WiFi, so you don’t feel as cut off. There’s a local shop that is also a coffee shop selling local gifts and crafts. The village also has a pub, but it is best to book if you want food as there is a camp site at the back. Cockermouth and Keswick are the nearest towns with supermarkets.

General Comments: First time staying in the Lorton valley which is beautiful. Cottage has everything you need - with a lovely village shop and pub within walking distance. Short drive to Crummock, Buttermere and other local pubs as well as having the option of walks straight out the front door.
