Located in Lorton village, Cobblers Cottage is a traditional holiday cottage for 4 people. The interior is warmly presented and provides comfortable holiday accommodation. There are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, and a relaxed sitting room with a cosy woodburner.
High Lorton is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by open fields and pastoral scenery. There are superb walks from the village including the dramatic ridges of Whiteside and Hopegill Head and the gentler slopes of Fellbarrow. Loweswater and Crummock are a short distance from the village, both enjoying a calm atmosphere and beautiful mountain scenery. There is a small fishery just outside the village and the Coast to Coast cycle route passes close by. Lorton has a well regarded local pub, the Wheatsheaf, and Winder Hall, a lovely country house hotel that serves afternoon tea and evening meals.
Cockermouth is a 15 minute drive away. Here you will find all the main services and a good selection of independent shops. Keswick is within a 30 minute drive. There is a cinema and a theatre there not to mention a wide selection of places to eat, activities to take part in and numerous outdoor shops.
