Very good accommodation in a quiet location, a short walk from Keswick town centre.
Good sized garden with 2 seating areas.
Downside is the shower - it’s too small!
All in all we had an excellent time, cooked in 2 nights and ate out in excellent restaurants/pubs the other 5. We also had great weather, which always is a bonus.
Definitely recommend clematis cottage, but please consider enlarging the shower.

This was my fourth or fifth visit to Clematis Cottage - I've lost count - and it is like coming home each time. It's perfect for me - the location is perfect and the cottage is very comfortable. My only regret is in not booking for longer.

A larger sofa and or an armchair would have been welcome to relax on after a long day hiking, however the seating is adequate for two people.
The bed and bedding is pretty poor quality and could do with replacing. The pillow protectors and the mattress were stained and the cover is too large for the duvet. It seems like the bed base may be failing as pieces of bare board have been placed between the mattress and base.
The frying pans are desperately in need of changing, everything sticks and the thin metal warps and pops when heated, going on previous reviews this has been the case for years.
The garden is nice, however not as well kept as the photos in the description would suggest.
As others have said the shower cubicle is tiny and would be difficult for a large person or person with mobility issues to use.
Cons... all of the above and no smart tv.
Pros...location, parking, porch, shower (not the cubicle) , wifi is solid, theres a light and airy feel to the place.
Recommend... take a full double bedset, including your own pillows, protectors and duvet. Take your own bin bags..there arent any, and your own frying pans. Take a hdmi and laptop to be able to access your subscription channels.
Overall ok, however some simple upgrades would greatly improve the accomodation.
