From the South
If travelling from the South under normal weather conditions guests can approach via Windermere over Kirkstone Pass. In wintry conditions it is worth checking before travelling whether the Pass is open. If it is closed follow the directions from the North.
Take Junction 36 from the M6 and follow the A590 (A591) signposted for Barrow and Windermere
Continue on this road for roughly 15 miles (it will become the A591) until the roundabout for the A592 signposted for Kirkstone Pass and Ullswater
Take the third exit and continue on this road for 8 miles
Start to slow down because Caudale Beck will be coming up on your left, and there is no sign post to warn you. You will see a track with a metal gate and there is a signpost on the wall saying Caudale Beck. Take this track and follow it to it's conclusion and you will arrive at the farmhouse.
If you get to the Brotherswater Inn you've gone too far.
From the North
Take Junction 40 from the M6 and take the A66 signposted for Keswick for just under one mile
At the roundabout take the second exit onto the A592 signposted for Ullswater and Stainton
Follow this road for 15 miles until you reach the Brotherswater Inn
Continue past the Inn and the parking area for the campsite. The road then begins to rise.
You will pass a parking place on your left and the turning for Caudale Beck is on your next right.
You will see a track with a metal gate and there is a signpost on the wall saying Caudale Beck. Take this track and follow it to it's conclusion and you will arrive at the farmhouse.
