Butterfly Cottage is a sweet, cosy hideaway just perfect for two. It is a haven of peace and quiet being tucked away down a little alleyway, yet it is only yards away from the centre of Keswick with its pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as its independent and outdoor shops, art deco cinema, theatre and attractions.
Derwentwater is a 5-minute walk from Butterfly Cottage and here you can hire rowing boats, take a trip round the lake on the launch or explore the picturesque lakeshore paths. The high fells surrounding Keswick are within easy reach – favourites include Catbells, Skiddaw and the Coledale Horseshoe.
As well as being known as the ‘Adventure Capital of England’, Keswick also hosts a variety of events and festivals including the Film Festival in February, Words by the Water in March, the Jazz festival in May, the Mountain festival also in May, and the Beer Festival in June.
