We thoroughly enjoyed our family weekend away at the end of August. Even bagged some sunshine! Burnside Cottage is lovely- beautifully situated just outside Keswick in the village of Braithwaite which itself has nice pubs and walks, and is ideally situated for Whinlatter Forest. Well equipped, spacious and with a delightful garden. Only issue we had was that our tallest family member suffered a nasty bump on the head. The doorways and staircase are VERY low. Signs would be a good idea.

Hi Rachel, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? The location is stunning, just perfect if you enjoy getting out for some good walks. And the sunshine was an added bonus!
I'm sorry to hear that a member of your family had a nasty bump to the head. I really appreciate your feedback and will see how we can prevent this from happening again.
I hope you can come back to make more memories in the Lakes soon.

Great location and ideal for 4 adults and 2 children. Everything you require for a leisurely stay is at hand in Burnside cottage. A beautiful garden and ample garden furniture was a welcome surprise for the grandchildren to play in.

Beautiful cottage in the heart of the village. Good size, well equipped, tastefully decorated. Idyllic garden with the beck gently lapping away next to the garden and plenty of visiting birds. Great to have the well-equipped village shop a stone's throw away. Provision of towels and bathmats in the cottage would have been good as they take up a lot of luggage space. And duvets were a bit hot for summer. But otherwise, perfect!
