Burnside Cottage is one of the oldest cottages in Braithwaite, retaining many of the original character features.
The side entrance door opens into a utility room with a kitchen off it. The utility room is a handy space for storing boots, coats and wet weather gear and it has a washing machine and a dryer. You will also find the fridge freezer here too! There is also a handy ground floor shower room with a walk in shower, washbasin and WC.
The kitchen is fully integrated with a gas hob, electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, digital radio and ipod dock. There is also a dining table and chairs for 6 people. Both the utility room and the kitchen have slate floors.
In the lounge there are characterful original beams, an open fire and a smart TV and DVD player. There is comfortable leather seating for 4/5 people with a further 2 comfy non-leather chairs. The large curved bay window is a delightful feature of this cosy room.
A feature spiral staircase with rope banister leads to the first floor (not suitable for less abled or infirm). On the first floor there is a master bedroom with a double bed and door onto a fantastic balcony with beautiful fell views. There is a further double bedroom with a window seat and a spacious twin bedroom with a window seat.
The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.
Outside there is a lovely garden to the side and rear of the cottage, including a summer house overlooking the beck. Garden furniture is provided.
