A delightful cottage in a peaceful setting with views of Blencathra and the Pennines. This is the perfect location to explore nearby Ullswater and the northern fells.

If you are looking to visit Ullswater and the northern fells, then this cottage is ideally positioned. This mid-terraced cottage has been lovingly and tastefully restored, retaining the character of the original features but bringing a contemporary feel which is comfortable for families and groups of friends to relax and enjoy. The lovely living room is warm and spacious with wood burner and opens out to the open-plan kitchen/dining/room. The three bedrooms and bathroom are all on the first floor. There's a spacious king-size room, a splendid double and a delightful twin (that can be made into a super-king-size upon request). The family bathroom has a free-standing bath as well as a separate shower cubicle. Outside, there is private parking for two cars and a pleasant sitting out area with garden furniture.

From the front door, there are numerous walks to enjoy, which include the River Eamont where the historical sites of King Arthur’s round table and Mayburgh Henge can be viewed. For good walking, the fells nearby include the High Street range, 5 miles away and Helvellyn is just 10 miles away. The cottage is ideally placed for enjoying the activities around Ullswater which is 4 miles away, where excellent walking and cycling amidst splendid scenery can be enjoyed. If you enjoy a picnic, why not pack a rug and goodies and explore the numerous beaches around Ullswater, perfect to relax and rejuvenate from busy lives. To make the most of the spectacular scenery take a cruise on the Ullswater Steamers which sail throughout the year. Water sports are also nearby with rowing boats and kayaks available to hire.

If you fancy heading slightly further afield, then take a scenic drive to the beautiful South Lakes! Explore bustling Ambleside with its independent shops and quirky eateries or head to Bowness-on-Windermere to admire the yachts and enjoy a lakeside picnic. The historic border city of Carlisle is half an hour away. Visit Tullie House Museum to learn all about this area's past and Roman connections, with part of the infamous Hadrian's Wall itself not too far away.

‘Domus dulcis domus' reads the Latin quote above the living room fire surround. Translated as 'home sweet home', this is exactly what this cottage offers.

Two steps lead up to the front door which is protected by a quirky canopy porch this leads to a lovely spacious living room which is bright and airy but still wonderfully cosy thanks to its wood burner, perfect for relaxing evenings in in front of the fire, alternatively take a peaceful moment and relax in the large armchair, the perfect spot for catching up with a good book. For entertainment there's a 32 flatscreen TV with a DVD player and a numerous selection of family DVDs to enjoy. The kitchen opens into the dining area, making it a fantastic sociable space. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'd need for a self-catering holiday. In here you'll find an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, handy microwave and dishwasher so there's no need to fight over who has to do the washing up!

Onwards and upwards to the first floor and the three gorgeous bedrooms. First up is the lovely master bedroom, with a feature metal-framed king-size bed. There are built in cupboards for storage and a dressing table with mirror and stool. Next at the rear of the cottage we have the bright double bedroom, Again, with a lovely metal-framed bed. A handy chest of drawers provides the storage and there are useful hooks should you need to make use of them. The view from this window sees the wonderful Pennines in the distance. Last but by no means least is the delightful twin room, which can be made up as a super-king upon request. Also on the first floor is the wonderful family bathroom. As well as the WC and wash basin, there's a separate shower cubicle and elegant free-standing bath, perfect for indulging in a long soak.

With the benefit of being south-east facing, the front of the cottage has the sunshine for most of the day and into the evening, perfect for a glass of wine outside in the sitting area, while soaking up the atmosphere at the front of the property, with open fields and Blencathra in the distance. At the rear of Bumblebee is a spacious terraced area. This can be accessed via 9 steps and is the perfect location to enjoy a morning cuppa whilst looking across green pastures towards the Pennines.

We can't thank the owners enough for a wonderful stay. The cottage was full of really thoughtful details. The hosts were warm and welcoming from the start. We couldn't believe how clean and comfortable the cottage was and are all looking forward to returning soon!

We had a home from home stay. Very welcoming home with a thoughtfully prepared cottage. It is in a great location to visit all over the Lake District. We were able to go, horseriding, hiking, visiting landmarks, and boating on the lake. The hosts are great, on hand if needed. Thanks for a great stay.

This holiday home is of an excellent standard. The rooms are spacious (spacious enough for a travel cot as well as having room to move around.) The living space is beautiful with a focus on being comfortable. The kitchen although small is very well equipped and the owners based next door who are very friendly and available to help as needed! Bumble Bee Nook is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage. We had an excellent few days away and would recommend this beautiful cottage to couples or families. A Easy accessible to beautiful walks and places to visit. Owners live next door and are very welcoming and friendly. Its been a fantastic few days. We will be back.

Lovely little place for a last minute getaway with my partner and a couple of our friends - makes for a great base for walking (short drives to everywhere), and being close to Penrith made it possible for people coming from London. Space for board games, cosy wood stove and enough kitchen to cook properly (but bring your own knives, as usual!)

Me and my family had a great stay here. I would highly recommend this lovely cottage. Owners are very helpful and so kind. Surrounding areas very peaceful and 2-3 miles away from all supermarkets. Hope anyone stays here Will enjoy
