Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean, very well equipped and location across from pretty railway station gave us options to travel without cars. Great garden for the dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially as weather was fantastic. Would have liked a second outdoor seating area for dining and, as we were 3 generations, perhaps a TV in the other sitting room.

Hi Elizabeth, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? And the fabulous weather was the icing on the cake! I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Very spacious accommodation. Beds comfy. Kitchen well equipped. Good showers. Washer in outbuilding but no tumble dryer. There is not a lot in Langwathby but what there is is a short walk from Bridgeway. The location can be a bit busy as you are on the main road with only the garden between you and tractors and lorries hauling up the hill. Also you are right next to the railway embankment but that is much quieter than you might suppose. And the road soon goes quiet in the evenings. The garden and patio are lovely. There are pleasant walks from the village.
There is quite a lot to do and discover in the Eden Valley and you can easily go beyond it to the lakes or up and down the M6 from Langwathby. We loved the prehistoric monument that abound. Long meg stone circle is 10 minutes away by car. There is also a little Meg Stone Circle which is a bit underwhelming. Most amazing of all about 20 minutes away is Maybury henge and beside it King Arthurs seat.
This is a great location for families with small children and is also accessible for people with limited mobility. It is an absolute joy for trainspotters as there are quite a lot of steam trains that run on the scenic Settle to Carlisle line that is right behind the house.
