- Beautiful peaceful place. We stayed at Bridge End for one week as a base for our holiday. The cottage is a quaint 300 year old building situated at the end of a long track in the corner of a farm. It offers seclusion, a lovely nearby river/stream (just about the right depth for young kids to paddle), local fell walks and lots of sheep.
It's a good place to cut yourself off from the world (though the local Morrisons and Aldi are only a 10 minute drive away). The cottage was clean and homely. My only gripe might be the lack of a DVD player. With no wifi and indifferent TV reception the opportunity to play a DVD to keep young kids happy in an evening would have been welcome.
Overall though, I'd recommend this cottage as a base for a Lakeland stay.

Hi Charles, thank you for taking the time to write a review. It sounds like you had a great time at Bridge End. It's the perfect place to get away from it all and recharge the batteries isn't it? I hope the kids had fun exploring.
I'll pass your suggestion for a DVD player on to the owners for consideration, thank you.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
