Built in 1616, this is a traditional Lakeland cottage on a working farm in the heart of Longsleddale. The cottage enjoys beautiful uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside and is perfect for a secluded, relaxing break being located half a mile along a private farm track. The River Sprint flows through the farm and fishing can be arranged by the owner. In the autumn, you can watch the spectacle of leaping salmon and trout in the river.

At the head of the valley you can climb the Haweswater fells including High Street and Harter Fell. Kendal is 20 minutes away by car. The town is considered to be the southern gateway to the Lake District and the guide book writer Alfred Wainwright wrote his Pictorial Guides whilst living in Kendal. Kendal offers varied shopping and a fantastic arts centre showing everything from comedy to films and exhibitions.

The front door at the cottage opens straight into the main open-plan living space. To the right are comfy chairs around the multi-fuel burner and TV with VCR player and a DVD player. A little nook by the window with a round table is the ideal place for jigsaws or having quiet time.

To the left is the long dining table with the kitchen area beyond. The kitchen is equipped with electric cooker, microwave, fridge and plenty of storage space.

The utility room houses a sink, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is enough space for bike storage as well as an external door for easy access.

The bathroom has bath with shower over, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.

The original oak staircase leads to four bedrooms - one double with additional hand basin, two twins and one single with a further hand basin.

Outside is a grassy area with fantastic panoramic views. There is plenty of parking by the cottage

We have had a most wonderful holiday in this cottage. It is a very peaceful place. We did some walks from the cottage, but also drove a while for other hike opportunities.

A cosy, well equipped cottage in a beautiful location with stunning views of the hills and sheep. The house is in the middle of nowhere, yet close to Kendal. We would love to come back again!

Fabulous rural location to unwind and relax. Perfect for walking and cycling, but only a 15 minute drive to Kendal for essentials. On rainy days theres much to do, with national trust properties to visit and boat trips on lake Windermere, etc, etc! The cottage is very comfortable and the owner is very friendly and obliging. A lovely old cottage, sensitively modernised to make it comfortable with many original features and situated on a working farm. A stunning location in beautiful Longsleddale. We appreciated the quiet and tranquility- not always easy to find in the Lake District. Perfect for anyone who loves wild country and wants to get away from the crowds.

Lovely cozy cottage in a stunning location & well equipped. Owner Helen is lovely. If you are considering booking, the private farm access is 0.9 miles long. Fantastic staycation!! The location was everything and more, we couldnt fault it. Close enough to Kendal but so remote which is what we were looking for. You may get the odd guest in your gardon too you can walk from the cottage which is also a bonus if you dont want to drive everyday! Definitely be back!! Thanks Helen

Bridge End Cottage is my favourite place in the Lake District. This year I brought in some friends who visited the place for the first time. Like me they immediately fell in love with the place. So beautifully situated in Longsleddale. The views from the cottage are stunning. Can't help to keep coming back to this very authentic cottage !
