Property code: SZ099

A warm welcome for couples, families and four furry friends awaits in this home from home. Enjoy local pubs, coffee shops and restaurants in Keswick, as well as exploring the beautiful countryside.

This three-bedroom cottage is situated in the heart of the market town of Keswick. Its nickname comes from its proximity to the Keswick Brewing Company, which backs onto the cottage. The brewery offers tours in which you can discover how beer is made using sheep wool and what makes the beer green! No tour would be complete without sampling the beer in the bar and you can stock the fridge from the brewery shop.

The cottage itself sleeps four people across two double bedrooms on the first floor, plus there is an attic hideaway for up to four older children. The perfect children's getaway, the loft has a large TV available to hook up a gaming system, increasing the chance that parents can be left in peace downstairs! Keswick has been voted as the most dog-friendly town in Britain and well-behaved dogs are always welcome at the cottage.

Just 2 minutes' walk into the centre of town, the cottage is a stone's throw from the River Greta. Across the river is Fitz Park (with a fantastic children's playground and tennis courts), Keswick Museum (the social enterprise cafe there is a highlight) and Keswick Spa children's swimming pool. Keswick makes a great base to explore the Lake District UNESCO World Heritage Site and there really is something to satisfy all budgets and all tastes.

Entry to the cottage is through a set of French doors, which flood the ground floor rooms with natural light. The living room features a five-seater leather corner settee, leather arm chair, gas fire, Hi-Fi and a TV with video and DVD player. The dining room adjoins the living room and the table seats up to seven guests. The well-stocked kitchen includes gas oven and four-ring hob, dishwasher, microwave, freestanding fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

The first floor features two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a WC. One bedroom has a super-king-size bed that can be split into two singles (please let us know if you'd like us to make the beds up as singles), a built-in wardrobe, bureau, dresser and a small TV and stereo (bring your auxiliary cable if you want to play music from your phone). The second bedroom has a double bed, double aspect windows, a built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers. The two bathrooms each contain a walk-in drencher shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC.

The attic room (available on request and at an additional charge) is accessed via a permanent ladder from the first floor with twin beds, suitable for adults and children over 15. A huge TV is available, but only works with a gaming system, so be sure to bring the Playstation or Xbox.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 super-king-size (can be made into twin beds on request), 1 double.
  • 1 additional attic room (not suitable for young children)  with two single beds. If you require the beds to be made up in either of the attic rooms an additional charge applies - please contact us to book
  • 2 shower rooms with WCs and 1 separate WC
  • Gas oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, freestanding fridge-freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer
  • Gas fire
  • TV, DVD and VHS, Hi-Fi
  • Towels not provided
  • Off road parking for 2 cars but it is very tight to get in to the parking space - confidence is required, or there is street parking nearby
  • Shop, pub, restaurant within 0.5 mile
  • Please note there is an additional charge for using the attic rooms and it must be requested at the time of booking
  • The TV in the attic room only works when linked up to a gaming console so please bring your own with you
  • Very steep ladder style steps lead up to the attic room and it has fully opening windows so is not suitable for young children
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 4 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

We loved everything about the cottage, but the parking was virtually impossible . Not suitable for someone partially disabled as the car had to be parked offsite at a cost of 11 per day and this did not even guarantee a space during busy times!, Access was restricted by large cars, work vehicles and scaffolding on neighbouring property. The only reRead moreason I wouldnt recommend was the parking. For someone without a car it would be 100% Hide

Description needs updating in line with current condition of the property. Disappointed no literature or maps of the area available to look at. No welcome pack eg. bottle of milk & tea bags there on arrival, so first thing we had to do was find a local shop.

Lovely comfortable cottage. Well located and park close by for dog walking. Parking is a problem but only had a short stay so never needed the car as town and facilities are on the doorstep. Would stay again.

Very clean and welcoming warm cottage with ample sleeping quarters. The lounge is bigger than it looks on the photos. It has radiators which are useful for drying coats as well as a tumble dryer.

Overall it is very nice , clean etc but we all felt like fish in a bowl whilst having a meal. Could a curtain be put up over the glass doors or stained glass installed.
