- Unfortunately the access and parking created a lot of stress. For starters, there is now scaffold narrowing the first few meters of the lane to a max width of 233cm. Then the cottage parking is pretty tight and trying to turn around to drive out is impossible when neighbours have parked and ends up being a case of musical cars to enable turning around.
There isn’t a garden (I was aware of this) but there isn’t any area of grass near the cottage. Our dogs had to go to the toilet on the paved area outside the front door where we parked and over the hot dry week we had, meant it wasn’t very clean. Also this got hot for them to spend any time standing on.
The ground floor of the cottage has no internal doors so made it impossible to contain dogs overnight and stop them running upstairs
The new shower room has clear glazing and no extract fan so keeping the window open means the vertical blinds blow around and people in the carpark can see right inside! The owners should stick on opaque covering to make it private…. Or fit an extract fan
The shower is also just for shorter people. My head was almost touching the shower head. Also there isn’t a bath at this property so may not be suitable for young children.
There is no way building regulations would class the top floor as a bedroom because of the very steep and narrow ladder to gain access.
There was only one key which meant locking in the guest who wanted an early night. Obviously this is a health hazard so we obtained a spare from the office.
It is quiet overnight and the house is well equipped

Hi Nicola, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry to hear the parking caused you some issues, hopefully the scaffolding won't be up for much longer. I really appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement, thank you.
I hope you still managed to enjoy your break and discovered lots of lovely walks with the dogs. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
