Location of Brews Cottage
from the North and South
Leave the M6 at junction 40 (Penrith)
Take the A66 westbound towards Keswick and Workington
After 0.8 miles, at the roundabout, take the third exit and stay on A66
After 14 miles take the A591 ramp towards Keswick and Windermere
Immediately after that keep left at the fork and merge onto Penrith Road (A591)
Continue on the Penrith Road and turn right down Station Road at the sign for 'Fitz Park / Museum & Art Gallery / Leisure Pool'
Immediately as you turn onto Station Road, prepare to turn left into an unmarked narrow lane next to the Gables. The lane is sandwiched between the second and third houses on Station Street and is situated before the parking bays begin on the left-hand-side of the road. It's narrow and easy to miss!
Enter the lane and drive all the way to the end, ignoring a car parking area to your right
Follow the lane around a sharp right-hand bend and keep going as far as you can
Brews Cottage / Mews Cottage is clearly signposted ahead of you
Park in the space infront of the cottage
Parking for two cars is available, but please be aware that the first car will be blocked in by the second car.
Exiting the parking space can be tricky, as you will need to reverse along the narrow lane and around the corner. If you are not confident at reversing - or you have a particularly large car, we recommend that you park on Station Road and survey the route by foot beforehand. There is disc parking on the street outside the property (unrestricted overnight) or there is all day unrestricted parking about six-minutes walk away on Brundholme Road.
