Of course the setting is superb. House is spacious, nicely furnished and very comrtable. Two cars in drive inadvisable but no problem parking up hill. Plenty of crockery and utensils. TV too dominant for an avid reader but WiFi good (thanks to the EU). Overall an excellent house for holidays. Three points:
No hair drier, which we have never found in many years of renting cottages. Suggest a list of equipment in sales blurb so one knows what is included.
No provisions at all when arriving. Some holiday let’s go overboard with welcome packs, but pepper, salt, tea, coffee and milk are the norm.
On two evenings, having not run the hot water for any reason, the was not enough to run a bath or even a shower. Not good for walkers who might come back cold an wet.

You arranged superb weather for the whole week and the five of us plus Boris the dog had a fantastic stay.

Excellent accommodation with only a small number of issues which did not affect our enjoyment, have emailed separately regarding these.

Enjoyed our stay and would stay again. It would have been nice to have had a downstairs cloakroom. The house has a great character and was individual which we liked. The local shop is excellent but the local village pub was strange in that it seemed closed during advertised opening hours, hence reduced score!
Great location for walking the northern lakes area and Kirkstile Inn at Loweswater is excellent for food and drink and ambience.

Thanks so much for your feedback, Elaine. I'm so glad you had a great break and enjoyed this unique building. How strange about the local pub! But I'm glad you found the Kirkstile Inn, one of my all time favourites. I've passed on your comment to the owner about a downstairs cloakroom in case it's possible! I hope you'll be able to come back some time soon...
