Great stay with adult family.
Great location for numerous lakes, excellent walks, and activities.
Highly recommend Keswick adventures for Canyoning. Derwentwater for paddle boarding, and Whinlatter Forest for mountain biking, all close by.

We had an excellent week in this comfortable and spacious cottage which is full of character. It would have been interesting to know more of the history and the renovation story. We particularly enjoyed the very well equipped kitchen ( with lots of fridge and freezer space), and the delightful courtyard garden above the stream which was perfect for post walk teas and pre dinner drinks. Parking is a little challenging but we managed.

This was our first holiday since March 2020 and did not disappoint in any way. The house looked good on the website and lived up to expectations. The location was ideal for us as we wanted a quiet location with extensive walking opportunities from the door, or with very limited driving, and this was available in abundance . Lorton is a beautiful village in a stunning setting.
We found the parking under the arch rather challenging, even with a relatively small car, and it would prove difficult for larger vehicles. Nearby off-road parking is possible, but space is often limited.
