Stylish and charming apartment in peaceful rural location near beautiful Ullswater, perfect for an escape into the heart of the Lake District.

This cosy ground floor apartment for two is in a little nook of Bank House Farm. Situated at the end of a farm track, it is a great base to explore the north-eastern Lake District with Ullswater Lake being less than 10 minutes' drive away.

 

This is a lovely part of the world to explore and there are hundreds of walks to choose from - how about a hike up Helvellyn, one of the highest mountains in the Lake District? Or if you prefer, there are pretty woodland paths by Aira Force waterfall. At Pooley Bridge you can take the Ullswater steamer to the other end of the lake and walk back. Or how about hiring a rowing boat (or motor boat) at Glenridding? Penrith is your nearest town with lots of independent shops to visit.

 

This one-bed apartment, directly under Kirksty Brow, is perfect for an Ullswater retreat. The focal point of the cottage is the wood burner in the sitting room area which is additionally equipped with a pair of comfortable armchairs, dining table for two, TV and a selection of board games and books.

 

The kitchen area attached to the sitting room is perfect for two, with an under the counter fridge, microwave, and gas hob with electric oven. The sitting room leads through to the double bedroom with a small dressing table and built-in wardrobe/storage space.

 

The bathroom is accessible through the bedroom and offers a bath with shower available, WC and wash basin.

Outside there is a shared garden.

Very disappointing, dark,Unclean,smelly and damp no window in bedroom, the bathroom was disgusting, dated and the bath had lots of broken plastic jets, the bedding was unclean, nowhere to sit outside, noisy neighbours outside the bathroom window who could see in. Couldn't stay and only received half our money back and parking was a nightmare I woulRead mored definitely not recommend this and it is not fit for renting. Hide

The cottage is lovely. Good facilities and comfortable. Plenty of hot water and a comfortable bed. We found the Internet very good and managed to use our gadgets on it. No phone signal with the 3 network but got one for the O2 network. Lovely bridleway walk from the cottage for a walk with the dog but apart from that needed the car to get to placesRead more. There was a dvd player and dvds in the cottage but wasn't mentioned in the cottage info so took our own. Plenty of books and games too. Hide

Cosy accomodation, well equipped kitchen, although it took some time to figure out how to work tthe oven. Towels are provided even though it advised that they weren't. The property could do with soe updating but good for the price. A good selection of books, DVD's and games too

Location great, directions good. For the price of two nights I would expect a decent property, felt really old fashioned and depressing. Although the bed linen was washed it was marked and didnt inspire one to sleep in it. Neighbours above, squeaky floorboards could hear talking. 4am til at least 5am upstairs guests running water, walking around, tRead moreheir dog barked set our dogs off. We had no sleep Saturday night. Loads of leaves sticks and muck front door kept Blowing in hard to keep clean. Hide

Sweet little cottage in a prime location. It was a bit tricky to find and we had to drive through a very narrow gate which was a bit annoying but we managed. The cottage was not the cleanest when we arrived and we had to spend some time cleaning up dead insects from the carpet. We also did not have wifi. I would still recommend this cottage, mainlyRead more due to its location, as long as it gets a through clean beforehand! Hide
