Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your break and the cottage lived up to your expectations. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

The location is splendid. The place is very quiet, the lake beautiful as well as the moutains.
We loved staying in a farm and Paul was vey kind and helpful.
Lake district is fantastic. We would love to come back!

Hi Agnes, Paul is lovely, isn't he? There's nothing quite like a bit of peace and quiet in such beautiful surroundings. Here's to getting away from it all!

We were most disappointed with the overall cleanliness of this property. The kitchen was shabby and dirty, worktops were damaged and fridge had makeshift cardboard restraints in the door made from cereal packets. The bathroom towel rail, toilet roll holder and wc flush handle were broken. The lounge area was akin to an old animal barn with the dirty carpet finishing up the walls (not fitted) and black webs hanging from the walls. Despite there being 7 beds in 3 bedrooms, the kitchen would certainly not accommodate more than 4 people. Cobwebs and flies everywhere. No curtain or blind for privacy at the back door which looked out over the communal yard. There was no small garden or any outdoor seating area. It was advertised as a working farm and we respected this fact, but would certainly not advise families with children to book due to the noisy, vicious dog caged in the barn or elderly/disabled adults due to the steep steps both down into the lounge and bedrooms, alongside the uneven pathways. Location was lovely once we'd 'escaped' each day though. We feel that this was outrageously priced (even out of season) for accommodation that had clearly not been checked for a while and was misrepresented.

Hi Fiona, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I do always encourage guests to let myself or the owner know if there is anything we can assist with during their stay so that we're able to address things for them and make their stay as smooth as possible. If you had let me know at the time I would have happily arranged for someone to come out and deal with anything that you felt required attention during your stay. Many of our guests love Bowderdale Farms rural setting and the fact that it is on a working farm, but I'm sorry if you felt that the property wasn't right for your stay. If you would like any help finding a place to stay for your next visit to the Lake District just get in touch and I'll be happy to help find somewhere that'll be perfect for you.
