An excellent cottage excellent location local amenities e.g pub and cafe were awesome especially Syke cafe. You don't need shops as you are aware the cottage is a few miles from anywhere. Lovely setting, surroundings and great place for family time. Well done Sallys cottages

It's the perfect holiday in a perfect cottage. Quiet, view, all stuff for children to be happy (and a watercourse more). Thank to the owner to rent this little corner of paradise and thank to sally's cottage for the advice and the perfect service.

Spent a wonderful week at this cottage, the weather was excellent but so was the house, the location was stunning. We had ordered an on line grocery shop and there was plenty of fridge/freezer space. We didn't need to buy any more food fortunately as although there are 2 cafes and 2 pubs we didn't actually see a shop. It is is well equipped & although we didn't need it there is a drying room. The cottage has 3 thermostats so you can control the heating in different parts of the house which was very useful as although we had excellent weather we did put the heating on in the main part of the house some evenings. Lovely walk on a stoned bridleway to the village which takes between 5-10 minutes. We ate at both pubs which were very good despite being extremely busy. Parking was fine, the village does get busy but we made sure we parked our extra car by the church in the evening as it could be very full during the day. If you're a walker you barely need to get in the car as there are so many walks. We also did the Via Ferrata Xtreme at Honister Slate Mine, it was £45 but well worth it with an excellent guide (although as an ex climber I found it a bit tame apart from the bridge!!). Finally couldn't fault Sally's Cottages they were a pleasure to deal with.
