Bowderbeck is in the most wonderful location; although just a few yards down from the road, and with a few passing walkers, it feels completely remote and the wonderful deck area and garden look out onto the most stunning views. It's just a few minutes walk along lovely paths to the village, the hotel , pub and 2 tearooms. It's a lovely old house, with worn flagstone flooring and the occasional low beam ( ouch!), and maybe a bit dark inside, although the newly added ground floor bedroom has lovely picture window views. Just perfect!

Hello John, It's the perfect place to relax and recharge the batteries, isn't it? I would love to welcome you back again in the future.

All good, but then we did have sunshine all week....and everything is good when the sun shines in the Lake District!

Hi Clare, you certainly were lucky with the weather weren't you? It makes all the difference! I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

We were not able to make the most of local hospitality as COVID meant the local pubs had to close BUT we absolutely loved the place and we really appreciated the phone call from Kate (the owner) to reassure us when we had the Tiers moved on NY Eve. As a fellow cottage owner, we can see the time and effort that has gone into this beautiful home and we thought the walks were fantastic! Thank you x

Hi Lucy, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your break despite some of the local facilities having to close due to the pandemic. The location is idyllic isn't it? Just perfect if you enjoy getting out for some good walks. And the cottage is lovely and cosy to come home to after a day out in the fresh Lakes air. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
