Originally converted into a dwelling some fifteen to twenty years ago, Bluebell Barn has since had a full renovation, completed in 2010. This charming detached property boasts plenty of character in a relaxed setting and offers the perfect family retreat. It sleeps five people in three immaculately presented bedrooms and has a small enclosed rear garden, ideal for worry-free holidays with young children.

Nestled in the glorious Eden Valley, Bluebell Barn benefits from its central location in the heart of the thriving village of Great Strickland. From the property, it is only a short stroll to The Strickland Arms, a great family pub offering an extensive menu using locally sourced ingredients, real ales on tap and a warm community spirit. Within the village, you will also find a children's play area, a church and the village hall which is active with events throughout the year. You don't have to venture far to find endless walking and biking options in the lush green countryside and an array of traditional villages and towns to explore. Fishing is a favoured sport in the area with the River Eden being a great source of salmon and trout. There is also plenty to offer wildlife enthusiasts with Tarn Moss, Cliburn Moss and Great Asby Scar National Nature Reserves all containing a vast variety of British flora and fauna. For many visitors, however, this beautiful area of Northern England is recognised for its incredible food and drink; Great Strickland is ideally located for exploring the many quality cafes, restaurants, pubs and farm shops that the area has to offer.

Exploring beyond the Eden Valley couldn't be simpler too. With the Lake District National Park on the doorstep to the West, the Pennines to the East and Yorkshire Dales a mere stone's throw to the South, there is a host of adventures to be had during a stay at Bluebell Barn. Ullswater, a jewel in the Lake District crown is less than ten miles from the property and offers many watersports, as well as plenty of walking and cycling options. The attractive stone villages of Pooley Bridge, Patterdale and Glenridding, are also worthy of a visit, and a ticket on Ullswater Steamers makes the journey between them a treat in itself. The market town of Penrith, with its historical yards and cobbled streets, is a mere five miles from the property and is perfect for a gentle amble. Combine it with a stop in one of the many tearooms and cafes for a perfect little outing. Whether you're looking for a holiday packed with adventure or just wish to relax and take in your surroundings, Bluebell Barn offers a comfortable and homely base.
