WIN a rather plush break at Kirkbank Cottage (worth £935)

Drum roll please!  It’s cottage giveaway time over on our Facebook page.  This might well be our plushest, poshest giveaway ever… oh yes, there’s even a grand piano in the sitting room, and not just any old grand piano, a Kawai Conservatory Grand Piano.

If you’re not one for tinkling the ivories, then perhaps you’ll prefer the surround sound Bluetooth speaker system to suit any musical tastes whether it be a bit of poppy Dance Monkey, smooth Dire Straits, or thrashing Metallica.

TV in the bath!

I could go on.  And in fact I will, why not!  Enjoy the large leather suite, the open flame of the woodburner, the original artwork, the stained glass windows, the chromotherapy and rainhead showers, the built in TV to watch in the bath upstairs.

Patio door out to the Eskdale Granite rock garden

Have you had enough yet or shall I continue?  We have a Quooker boiling water tap, so no waiting for the kettle to boil; we have Neff appliances throughout the kitchen; we have patio doors leading from the kitchen to the Eskdale-Granite rock garden which leads to a… wait for it… outdoor bath for two!  Luxuriate under the unpolluted Eskdale skies and count the stars!

So this is Kirkbank, a bonkersly beautiful and brilliant cottage in the village of Eskdale, with some of the Lake District’s best walking right from the front door – you can step out and go up Scafell Pike, you can explore the Miterdale valley, you can take a trip on the la’al ratty which is a steam train that runs 7 miles through some of England’s most amazing countryside to Ravenglass, the only coastal village within the Lake District National Park.  It will take you less than 5 minutes to walk to one of the ratty’s tiny stations.

This is the Eskdale Valley where you can pick from five pubs to visit.  There is a village shop.  There are Japanese gardens where you won’t spot another person (access to the gardens is via the supremely named Giggle Alley).  There is the most beautiful waterfall in the whole of Cumbria (in my opinion) called Stanley Ghyll Waterfall – to get there it feels like you’re exploring a small corner of rainforest.

And we’re giving away a weekend in October at this most amazing of all cottages.  It’s worth a whopping £935 and all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is comment on one of our Giveaway Posts on Facebook.  We’ll pick a winner from the glorious hat of magnificent randomness at Midnight on Monday night, and announce the winner on Tuesday via a Facebook Post at 10am – so check back on our Facebook page on Tuesday to see if you’ve WON!
