Romance & Love in the Lake District

Published:

Ahh, it’s that time of year when thoughts are turning to love and romance.  Rob and I have been together since we were 19 – how long ago that feels now.  I’m very lucky that Rob was happy to relocate up to the lakes.  I suspect that I had less to do with this move than the lure of the mountains, lakes and more specifically the rocks and of course Esk Buttress on Scafell in particular.

However, on Valentine’s day I am still going to convince him that I am reason for his life in the Lake District.  I have it all planned out.  The sun will shine.  We will take the kids to feed the ducks at Derwentwater lake.  They will behave perfectly and then we will deposit them with my parents and go for a hike up Grisedale Pike before dropping down to Winder Hall in Lorton for afternoon tea.  Once the kids are in bed we’ll light the fire and put on a DVD.  Has anyone seen any good films recently?

The Bothy holiday cottage in the Lake District

If you are looking for holiday cottages in the Lake District with an open fire over Valentine’s Day, I’d like to stay at The Bothy holiday cottage near Bassenthwaite, Keswick one day – it’s beautiful.
