This evening Sally’s Cottages are off to the Picnic Cinema, taking place in Whinlatter Forest at dusk! The event is run by a Penrith based charity, Eden Arts, who tour the region with their big screen, hosting outdoor film nights.
As the name suggests, this is a very social affair requiring you to bring camping chairs, head torches, drinks and nibbles, as well as a sense of humour and adventure! Oh and not forgetting warm clothes – the sun may have been out today but I think it will be quite chilly in the depths of Whinlatter Forest after dark.
Tonight’s film is the cult 90’s classic; Shallow Grave, and I think the secluded location of Whinlatter is perfect for this creepy film.
As well as Shallow Grave, you can also watch 28 Days Later and Dracula in various locations including Grizedale Forest and Muncaster Castle, both of which are close to many of our Lake District cottages.
