Lake District Cottages vs Camping!

Published:

I know which I'd choose! Our Lake District cottages let you sit in front of the fire even if it does decide to rain outside! Luckily I have my husband Rob to take our 4 year old Bruno out for his first nights camping in Eskdale.

Unfortunately the rain did come that day and they had to sit in the tent while the fire burnt outside (see the below snippit of video) . They had a good time though and Ted the dog went with them too. The sound of rain on a tent can be very soothing as long as you don't think you'll get washed away!

The weather has picked up this week in the Lake District with some crisp clear days which has been a lovely change - it's not too cold either, so we've been out on a few walks. The air is crystal clear at this time of year so the views are spectacular. We've just taken some Keswick cottages on at Springs Farm. There are 4 cottages in an ideal location for the town, lake and a superb walk up Walla Crag Fell which gives great views of Derwentwater, Keswick, the high fells and over to Bassenthwaite Lake. Bruno managed to walk quite a bit by himself this time so it was a lovely family walk.
