Keswick is a town famous for its mountain scenery and excellent walking. In addition to fellwalkers, the town is kept busy all year round with festivals. There is practically one per month – something to entertain every member of the family and even the dog too. Here in the office we feel like some of the festival- goers are old friends as they book into our self catering Lake District cottages year after year and always pop into the office to say hello.
The 23rd Keswick Jazz Festival took place between 8th and 11th May with 100 events taking place across the town in several different locations including pubs and hotels, the Alhambra cinema and the Theatre by the Lake.
Jazz is not my preferred choice of music however I really quite enjoy wandering down to the lake and sitting on the jetty whilst the music drifts across the water. The Jazz festival always brings a warm friendly atmosphere to the town, matched only by the popular Mountain festival soon after.
As the 23rd Keswick Jazz Festival draws to a close, the preparation for the Mountain Festival begins. This particular festival has been the runaway success of the last few years and has grown immensely.
