So how is the January diet going? Has it fallen miserably by the wayside or are you questing on in a productive fashion?
If you are looking for a kick-start, you might be interested to learn that there is a Health and Wellbeing fair being held at Rheged this weekend. Rheged is just off junction 40 of the M6, close to our self catering lake District cottages in Ullswater. It is only a 15-20 min drive from our self catering Lake District cottages in Keswick and is a great wet weather activity with plenty of good shops to browse round.
Rheged is the name of an ancient Cumbrian king. The centre has the largest turf roof in Europe and is built into a hillside, virtually hidden from view.
There are several places to eat and a superb food hall with an array of local specialties from cheese, bread and alcohol to biscuits, preserves and fresh produce. Rheged has an enormous IMAX cinema screen that shows specialty films throughout the year.
At the Health and Wellbeing event, there will be over 20 stands featuring fitness experts, nutritionists and beauticians. There will be free samples and demonstrations throughout the day. So if you are on a quest to feel a bit better about yourself and get fit, then I suggest taking a trip along to Rheged. The fair has free entry and you can park for free in the large carpark outside.
