Hello, I'm Anna from Discover Lakeland and I’m a professional guide, specialising in friendly and informative tours throughout the Lake District, whether on foot, by bicycle, in your own vehicle, or using a minibus or coach.  I love to delve into Cumbria’s fascinating history, unearth its rich heritage, and show you its hidden treasures and quirky curiosities.  I can also help you plan itineraries and routes that start directly from the doorstep of your holiday cottage.

Fells in the Langdales

Here are my top three tours:

A Tale of Ms Potter
A one-day tour taking in all the key sites associated with this famous author and illustrator – Wray Castle, Tarn Hows, Hawkshead and Hill Top, ending with a visit to the Armitt Museum in Ambleside (holder of many of her exquisite watercolours).

The Beauty of Borrowdale
Discover Borrowdale on a selection of walking tours through the valley.  Follow medieval packhorse routes to Rosthwaite, encounter glacial ‘sheep rocks’, walk the 'coffin route' to Watendlath, saunter through Seathwaite in search of wadd and Wordsworth, or simply enjoy a gentle meander through monastic Stonethwaite – the choice is yours!

Sacred Landscapes
A mystical tour around the enigmatic stone circles and megalithic monuments of Cumbria to see how they relate to their surrounding landscape. We will visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, Long Meg and her daughters, wonder at the mysteries of Mayburgh Henge, unearth remnants of the lost Shap ‘avenue’, and end the day at the gaunt ruins of Shap Abbey.

These and many other tours are tailor-made to your particular requirements as making your holiday a memorable one is my top priority!  Just get in touch to find out more!
