Here at Sally’s Cottages we think that a Lake District holiday can be made even more relaxing when you get the chance to snuggle in a cosy corner with a good book. So, in celebration of World Book Night 2019 on the 23rd of April, we’ve picked a selection of our cottages with reading nooks. Whether that’s a grand library, a deep windowsill, or a comfy corner, take a look at our self-catering holiday cottages that are perfect for all book lovers!

Riverside Retreat, Ambleside

After you've spent the day exploring the South Lakes, you can head back, select a book from the bookshelf, and settle down for a good long read!

Halecat House, Witherslack

Library at Halecat House in WitherslackThis elegant Georgian house is delightful for so many reasons including its pretty summerhouse, large gardens, spacious rooms, and lovely views. But if you’re a book lover, you’ll be immediately drawn to the library tucked away under the grand staircase. You’ll be hardly in the door before you get down to some serious reading!

Irt Valley View, Holmrook

Alternatively, you could head down into the communal drawing room and sink into one of the comfy chairs there!
