Lovely cottage !! Depending on what you want it is secluded (which could be a good or bad thing!). The pictures didn’t do it justice and it was much nicer in person!! Very spacious and a good amount of social space. Loved the pool table and dart board. One big bonus was the en suite in every room which allowed for privacy. The garden space is huge (some more garden furniture would be good). One thing I would say it the outdoor bins were full when we arrived which meant we couldn’t shut them properly which we felt bad about and they weren’t all labelled. We also couldn’t find a cottage welcome pack with info in but everything was easy enough to figure out anyway.

Would definitely recommend and Sally’s cottages were very efficient and pleasant to deal with! The area is quiet but beautiful and some good walks in the nearby area.

Hi Eleanor, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? The location is stunning, just perfect if you enjoy getting out for some good walks.
Thanks for letting me know about the bins, I've noted your request for some more garden furniture too.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

We had a lovely stay at Birkbank. Its remote location worked perfectly for us. The house is spacious and a good size, and we loved having the pool table there too. There was also Wi-Fi which we weren't expecting.

One of the 1st floor en-suite showers leaked slightly into the pool table room ceiling. The knives are also very blunt which makes chopping vegetables hard work!

Overall I would highly recommend for a house away from the busy tourist areas of the Lakes, but near enough to Loweswater/Buttermere/Crummock Water etc for lots of things to do and beautiful scenery nearby. It's a great place to stay and I hope we can return soon!

Thanks for letting me know about the shower, I'll make sure we get that checked out. I've noted your comment about the knives too.
