Birch Cottage is a delightful detached cottage in a converted coach house set in the grounds of Deloraine, a beautiful Victorian house boasting two acres of leafy grounds. It lies just half a mile uphill from Bowness on Windermere, one of the most sought after destinations in the Lake District thanks to its superb position. This is a delightful town with piers on to the lake where you can catch one of the stately launches or steamers to explore England’s largest lake. Alternatively you could just enjoy the bustling atmosphere of this lovely town which is chock full of quaint shops, cafes and pubs.
There is ample opportunity for stretching your legs with walks and cycling for all abilities in the beautiful rolling countryside and abundant opportunities for the more adventurous visitors. For the gourmets among you the area has a staggering array of fantastic places to eat, in fact the road between Bowness and Crook is known as the ‘Foodie Mile’ for the excellent eateries along it. Of course you can always just relax and unwind the minute you come along the leafy driveway and enjoy the tranquil haven of Deloraine’s lovely grounds.
