Great cottage with nice gardens. Would have been nice to have garden furniture and a BBQ in the back garden so we could have relaxed outside in the evenings. Apart from that it was great and the host was very welcoming 😁

Hi Richard, I'm so pleased you enjoyed your break at Birch Cottage. The glorious weather was the icing on the cake!
I'll pass your feedback about the garden furniture and BBQ on to the owners for consideration, thank you. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Our family group of four adults had a perfect week at this lovely cottage. The cottage is quite small, however the room layout is very cleverly designed to maximize the available space, and the wet room proved invaluable for the wheelchair-bound member of our party. The provision of an orthopedic bed was also most welcome.
Although only a half-mile from the town centre the location is very quite and peaceful, and the the mature gardens are a great place to relax after a day out.
Although the cottage is fully wheelchair accessible, please be aware that Helm Road, upon which the cottage is located, is very steep. Therefore, if using a normal push wheelchair "popping into town" isn't an option unless the wheelchair pusher has superhuman powers to get back up the hill. Our disabled party member uses a powered wheelchair so the climb wasn't an issue for us, but if using a regular wheelchair be prepared to have to drive every time you go out. Whilst this observation has no relevance to the first class accommodation, I feel it is worth mentioning.
