Converted from the old School on a quiet access only lane, Betty's Cottage is surrounded by open farmland with views to the Wasdale Fells. At the end of this peaceful lane is Irton Church. In the centre of the graveyard is a 9th Century cross, one of the oldest relics in Cumbria (after the mountains!).
This self-catering cottage for two is a perfect little hideaway, ideal for those seeking a relaxing get away from it all holiday. There is a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting room for relaxing at home. Footpaths head out across the fields, as far as the coast, Muncaster Fell and Miterdale Forest. The owners can provide breakfast for visitors next door at the Bed and Breakfast at an extra charge and by prior arrangement.
Irton Hall and the Bridge Inn at Santon are offering guests of Betty’s Cottage a 10% discount when dining, both a pleasant twenty minute stroll across fields. Gosforth Village is close by, offering a selection of independant shops and an interesting pottery workshop where you can make your own pot or buy a local design.
