Lovely cottage, in a superb location and we had perfect weather too!!
Very well equipped kitchen. Amazing walking from the door. Enjoyed listening to the cuckoo every day and watching the house martins. a wonderful week!

The location is fabulous: plenty of walks from the back door, including Green Gable and even Cat Bells; we didn't use the car for three days. Then superb walking over by Buttermere and Crummockwater, which you can get to over the spectacular Honiston pass, by car or using the very good bus service.

The cottage is compact but well presented. Need to bring all supplies with you - nearest real shop is Keswick. Don't forget loo paper: initial supplies are minimal. Delightful little courtyard + garden for sitting out.

The heating worked very well and there was plenty of hot water. Only downside is parking; luckily the next door cottage was unoccupied and we parked in front but otherwise you have to use the NT carpark and pay for it during the day if you aren't out.

Walking down the lane to Seathwaite at 6 am in hot sun with a cuckoo belting out from the woods and lambs everywhere has to be a best memory. And don't miss the pub at Stonethwaite - brilliant.
