Bell Crags is a lovely retreat in a stunning area of the Lake District. I have not rated 'Local Amenities' because there are no shops etc walkable BUT this is what we wanted, so for us the amenities were great but if you wanted shops etc it would be a low score.
We had a wonderful break away from civilisation and spent a great week walking various paths around Bell Crags and beyond. Other than the arrival and departure days we had stunning autumnal weather, cold, crisp & bright so the Lakes were shown off to their full potential and I remembered why I loved visiting the Lakes as a child. Needless to say we will be back. Kathy, Ian, James, Jack & Maddie (the dog!)

Hello Kathy, Thank you for your lovely feedback. It's a fantastic cottage isn't it? You couldn't have picked a better location for escaping the hustle and bustle for a while and getting out and about on some great walks. I'm thrilled you experienced some fabulous weather and the wonderful memories the Lakes brought back to you. I very much look forward to welcoming you all back very soon!

Stunning location, cute, well equipped cottage in beautiful surroundings and a pretty garden. No matter there are not many local amenities. It's what we come to the Lake District for... Peace and quiet! My only comment is that the kitchen seemed a bit 'greasy'. It could do with a deep clean, in my opinion. Otherwise beautiful and YES, we would come back to stay again.

Hi Vanessa, many thanks for your comments, I'll look into your suggestion regarding the kitchen. It sounds like you had a wonderful time and I would love to welcome you back again in the future.

My stay was ruined by having a faulty back door lock leaving me unable to lock the door. I'm a female pensioner staying on my own. I was left this way until the last night of my stay as the owner would not authorise repair of the lock as she had had no problems with it. Sally's cottages were unable to repair the lock without the owners permission. Saddened to say they all thought it was acceptable to leave a lone female this way.

Hi Lesley, thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. I'm sorry about the issue that you had with the lock at Bell Crags. Although we do always need to check that our owners are happy for us to action any work done at their cottages, whilst we were waiting to hear back for the owner of Bell Crags we did have this back door locked in the meantime to give you as much peace of mind as possible during your stay. We always aim to ensure our guests are as comfortable and secure as possible, so I am sorry if you weren't made aware that this was locked by the handyman who attended the property initially. If you'd like any help to find a cottage that'd be perfect for your next booking just get in touch and I'd be more than happy to help you find something that suits you perfectly.
