Location of Beech Barn
Directions from the North and South
From junction 40 on the M6 take the A66 east to the next roundabout
Then the A6 south signposted Shap.
Go over the traffic light controlled hump-backed bridge and through Eamont Bridge (only a short distance) and at the mini roundabout turn right towards Ullswater, Pooley Bridge and Tirril.
You will then cross back over the motorway and about 1/2 mile further on come to Yanwath Village.
Keep on the main road past the village, noting the Yanwath Gate Inn on the right (that is your local pub).
Cross over the railway bridge, then fork left at the school (sign posted Askham). Then almost immediately (after a white cottage), opposite the school, fork left again (avoid the sharp left).
This takes you onto a long, straight narrow drive that leads to Glendowlin (not sign posted). When you arrive at Glendowlin Lodges entrance keep left and Beech Barn is in front of you and the first barn you come to. There are two beech trees in front of the lodge and it's the only white lodge on the entire site so you can't miss it!
Parking is on your left opposite the front entrance to the Lodge.
