The owners of this cottage will be providing a Christmas tree and decorations for the festive season.
Beeby House beautifully combines original Victorian features with contemporary furniture and decoration to make a spacious, stylish and comfortable home. Although you do not have sea views from the house it is only two minutes' walk from the beach and the pub. The fish and chip shop and playground are just as close. Sleeping up to 8 people in 3 bedrooms (the additional 2 people can be accommodated on an air bed), this is a big and flexible property which could suit families or small groups travelling together.
Parking is available for 2 cars on the roadside in front of the house and cars can also be parked round the back. There are two steps up to the front door which leads into a porch with plenty of room to take off sandy boots after a walk on the beach. The floor is of original Victorian patterned tiles and a stained-glass light above the door into the hall is indicative of the character of this house.
Off the spacious high-ceilinged hallway to the right is a gorgeous living room, with two comfy 3-seater sofa set around the fireplace within which is a wood-burner for cosy winter evenings. This room overlooks the square so gets the morning sun and is lovely and bright with a beautiful wooden floor. There is a coffee table and a small cabinet with useful tourist information, local interest books and games in the drawers. The TV cabinet holds a TV with Freeview and a DVD player.
Next off the hall is a large dining room with plenty of space for the table and 6 chairs, ideal for family dinners or catching up with friends over a leisurely meal. This room has a laminate floor, the window looks out onto the yard and there is a large storage cupboard for hanging coats.
At the end of the hall is the fully fitted kitchen with tiled floor and tiled splashback, a feature stone wall is full of character in this compact but well appointed, well equipped kitchen. There is plenty of room for cooking with an eight-ring gas hob, electric grill and double oven plus a microwave. A window out onto the yard and a skylight mean the room is light and bright and there is plenty of storage. Behind the kitchen is the utility room with large American style fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Carpeted stairs lead up from the hall to the first-floor landing where you are in for a treat, to the left is a sumptuous contemporary bathroom. Spacious and beautifully designed to encourage you to spend time relaxing in the luxurious freestanding bath or having a long hot shower in the double shower cubicle this is a stunning room. Enjoy the view of the feature fireplace then step out onto the fully tiled floor with a cosy towel from the heated towel rail - lovely!
Adjacent to the bathroom is the master bedroom. Beautifully decorated in a contemporary style, the double bed is dwarfed in this huge room. There is a wardrobe and 2 chests of drawers for storage and a two-seat sofa for chilling out away from the family. The sun streams in through the window overlooking the village square in the mornings highlighting the original floorboards and high ceiling of this characterful room.
A further flight of stairs leads up to the second floor with two further bedrooms both spacious doubles with triple wardrobes, bedside tables and velux windows. A double airbed is available if required for the front bedroom (you will need to request this upon booking).
From the utility room a door leads out into the walled yard with log store, access to the back lane and a table with 4 chairs which gets the sun in the middle of the day.
