Such a well equipped cottage in a lovely location and so easy to get to from the motorway. Will definitely recommend to our family and friends and would like to stay in again if we get back to the South Lakes area.

House = kind of bungalow, semi detached with small front garden, a long driveway for up to 3 cars, a larger garden at the back - but mind : fence next to neighbour = only 1 meter high. (we never saw neighbour though). Unfortunately there was no real garden furniture only a small plastic table and a wooden bench.
Downstairs : good sized kitchen with really everything you need (oven-micro-fridge-dishwasher- radio - 1 small heating radiator inside a cupboard and another rather noisy plinth heater). Bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Lounge with a single seat sofa + pouffe, a 2 seater and another 3 seater sofa-3 small nestling tables- tv+radio. Good sized bedroom. Utility room with washing machine and dryer. Upstairs = a rather good sized bedroom with ensuite bathroom. House = in relatively calm street. Pub and post office = 2 minutes walk, Tesco and Aldi = in Carnforth. House is a mile away (birds eye view) from M6 and when sitting outside you can clearly here the noise, inside=quiet. But within easy reach when you want to travel north or south. Windermere in the Lake district = 30 minutes drive - Malham eg. in the Yorkshire Dales or Blackpool = 1 hours' drive.

Although the house was tidy upon our arrival we felt rust when breathing, it wasn’t fresh. The bed sheets weren’t fresh, the carpet wasn’t freshly vacuumed. We had to vacuum and wash beddings to sleep. We had a baby and 3 kids with us & didn’t wanted them breathing in the dust. Cleaning was major issue. Gas cooker has been changed to electric (pics not updated) caused us trouble because my stainless steel pot couldn’t work. location altoh was quite but very far from local aminities and outing places. Due to Christmas majority of places were closed. Not suitable location when outing with kids. I rather stay in Windermere next time for same price and near to all local aminities plus quite location and much cleaner cottages. We left one day early.

Thank you for your review for Beckside - I am sorry that you stay wasn't all that you expected it to be. I have spoken with the owner about your feedback and she is surprised to hear that you had cleanliness issues during your stay. It is always good to let the owner or myself know if you have any problems at the cottage, as we would have been happy to address these for you at the time. I do have a photo of the new oven on the website, but I have made this clearer in the description and removed the older photo too to avoid any confusion. Thank you for the feedback on this. I am sorry that the location didn't quite suit your needs, I would be happy to assist you in making a booking better suited to your requirements, just let me know. I do hope you are able to return to the Lake District sometime soon!
