LIVINGSTON
Family
- Lovely secluded location great for a quiet relaxing break but not great for a young family as there isn't much to do. We went on the Ravenglass railway one day and to Muncaster castle but these are extortionately priced. We thought the cottage was on the beach but it is on an estuary which wasn't safe for the kids because of areas of sinking sand. The other local beach is right by a power station and I didnt feel comfortable letting the kids in the water there. Not much in the way of local walks for families without walking on roads so we travelled over an hour on the other days to visit the more well known lakes and towns.
The cottage has lovely decor and was clean, beds were comfortable and nice garden, but again not great for young children due to dishes being kept in a sideboard with no locking option. Living room door does not have a proper handle to open and close, it is just a catch, so is easily opened by toddler who could then get out to play in the bathroom or climb the very steep stairs - no stair gate available. In addition there was a diesel spill while we were there meaning when outside in the garden there was a strong smell of diesel for 2 of our 7 days when we couldn't use the garden.

Hi Diane, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your break, it's a lovely place to get away from it all isn't it? I'm glad you enjoyed exploring and had some good days out.
I'm sorry to hear about the diesel spill, I hope it didn't cause too much inconvenience. Just get in touch if you'd like any help choosing somewhere to stay for your next break.
