Steps lead from the garden to the front door (there is a handrail to assist guests with mobility issues), which opens into the bright and airy hallway of Beach Cottage. Inside there is a spacious open plan lounge/diner with seating for six people. Four windows offer panoramic views out across the beautiful estuary.
A widescreen TV with Freesat is provided along with a DVD player and a supply of DVDs for guests to enjoy. The large wood-burning stove keeps the open plan living area toasty during the colder months and an initial basket of wood will be supplied for stays taking place between October and April.
The kitchen area is open plan from the lounge, making it a great space for socialising while cooking, or simply admiring the lovely views from the windows. Whilst this is not a large space it is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, slimline dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and an under-counter fridge with ice box. Please note that the cottage does not have a freezer.
Would guests please note there is one bathroom which is located on the ground floor and has a lovely large walk-in shower with washbasin, WC and bidet. As the cottage is old and quirky, space does not permit the installation of another bathroom and we would ask guests to fully consider this if renting the cottage with friends or extended family who are not used to sharing!
There is one bedroom situated on the ground floor with a king-size bed. Again, especially useful for guests with limited mobility. It has a large window giving plenty of light. There is a wardrobe providing ample storage for guests' belongings along with a full length mirror, chest of drawers and leather stool. There is a hairdryer available for guests to use.
Upstairs is accessed from the hallway via a steep, narrow staircase (not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, although there is a rope banister (young children should be supervised and you may wish to bring your own stair gate). Here you will find a a further double bedroom which has a comfy deckchair to sit and enjoy a quiet moment. On the opposite side of the landing, the smaller of the two upstairs bedrooms is a twin bedded room more suitable for children. There is restricted headroom in both of these bedrooms, however they are very light and airy with Velux windows and carefully restored 1850's wooden beams and floorboards.
The outside areas are simply spectacular, with unrestricted views over the estuary and beyond. Garden furniture from the rear yard can be moved around so you that guests can enjoy fell views from one side of the cottage and beach views from the other. You'll be spoiled for choice!
