- On arrival we were met by Lionel + Susan who explained the cottage to us and left a home made sponge with Blackcurrant jam, mmmmmmm
during our stay we found that there was a damp + Mouldy smell which may have been due to lack of occupancy but it never seemed to go away ,however this did not spoil the overall holiday we also felt as if the beds were slightly damp ,
the cottage was well fitted out with equipment and the log fire was a great asset due to the weather that we had ,
we must admit that the pub at the bottom of the road "The Snooty Fox " served up beautiful food and had a great atmosphere ( WOULD ADVISE THAT VISITORS PRE BOOK THERE MEALS AT THE SNOOTY FOX ) as it serves great food and is always very busy ,
although we have made some point above it did not spoil our weeks stay and would recommend it to anyone . We used it as a staging post for our days outings all we would like to see added to the cottage is a phone (if only for emergency and internet connection so that there could be some way off booking days out .
was a bit disappointed that the nearest shop is about 15 miles away.
the tourist information leaflets need to be up dated as we had some from 2016 and we got what we could to help
once again a thanks for the uses of Barrony Cottage
